Crystal Light Boxes Production Process

Crystal light boxes is a new advertising carrier inspired by LCD TVs and developed in 2008 by drawing on backlight technology of LCD TVs.

Crystal light boxes have characteristics of thin thickness and energy saving.

These characteristics are fully in line with development trend of today’s advertising media and have developed rapidly in recent years.

Due to tight power supply in China, ultra-thin light boxes with light guide plates that save 60-70% of electricity than traditional light boxes have received great attention.

However, due to difficulty in making light panel, core technology product in ultra-thin light box, and some manufacturers keeping production process secret, only some larger companies can produce light panel ultra-thin light boxes, which prevents promising light panel ultra-thin light box products from being fully promoted.

Crystal light boxes' core technology

Core technology of crystal light boxes production method are panels that converts side light source into surface light source.

Currently, there are mainly printed light panel and engraved light panel on the market. Both of these 2 types of light guide plates can be cut at will and can be made into any size.

Producing crystal light boxes with following 4 steps

Step 1: cut light panel into required size. Size of light panel should be smaller than size of frame, and position of lamp and ballast should be reserved. Polish end surface of homogenizing plate. Light panel is now ready.

Step 2: paste double-sided tape around periphery of light distribution plate, and stick reflective film on one side of light distribution board. Reflective film uses white PET reflective film, or high-gloss photo paper can be used instead.

Step 3: wrap fluorescent tubes with reflective film on both sides of light-diffusion plate. Usually T4 or T5 fluorescent tubes are used. For small-sized light panel ultra-thin light boxes, you can choose LED hard light strips, usually 3528 and 5050.

Step 4: connect ballast and place light panel, lamp tube and ballast into bottom frame of crystal light boxes.

Frames of crystal light box are made openable to facilitate replacement of frontlit films. Frames can be made of aluminum alloy, stainless steel, wood, plastic and other materials, and can be made into different appearances according to personal preferences. Ultra-thin aluminum is currently commonly used in the market.
